Abstract: The Bible contains few scriptural accounts about Melchizedek and the order of the priesthood that bears his name. However, the restored gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers much more about this otherwise lesser-known figure and this priesthood. There are also multiple, ancient extra-biblical texts that discuss Melchizedek and the Melchizedek Priesthood, most of which have been discovered after the publication of Joseph Smith's accounts regarding Melchizedek.
